Our story begins in 1988 when we decided to lease a small turn key, seasonal restaurant in South Seaside Park, called the Wheelhouse Luncheonette. We spent 15 wonderful years there and formed many lasting friendships. After the Wheelhouse was sold to the state we moved to the Boathouse Cafe, in Seaside Heights. We remained there for three summers. During that time we were lucky enough to be asked to lease a second restaurant, that was a part of Joey Harrison’s Surf Club in Ortley Beach, which we named the Sunrise Cafe. We remained at Sunrise until it was destroyed by Super storm Sandy in the fall of 2012. In the summer of 2013 we were able to lease a new restaurant on top of the Sawmill in Seaside Park which was named Sunrise Cafe II. All through these 25 years in the restaurant business we have employed many family and friends many which still remain with us today.
In 2009 we opened up our year round restaurant, C&G’s Country Cafe. C standing for Carleen and G for George, the two owners of this and all the previously mentioned restaurants. Our goal has always been excellent food, reasonable prices, and a top of the line staff.
